1. Start with the goal, not the follower count
First decide what you want to learn: whether a track excerpt catches attention, which format works best, or how an audience in a particular country or language responds. For an early track test, several relevant micro-creators can be more useful than one large creator, but the right mix depends on your goal.
2. Watch recent videos first
Open the creator showcase and ask: would my track sound natural in this content? Look at the opening seconds, pace, humor, editing, and how the creator uses music. Format and style must fit the track; profile numbers alone cannot show that.
3. Match the audience
If country, language, age, or gender matters for the track, use filters and verified audience analytics when available. A creator's own country is not necessarily the country of their viewers. When data is missing, do not infer audience demographics from the creator's appearance.
4. Read the numbers together
Average views show the creator's usual reach, not a forecast for your track.
Engagement rate helps describe audience response. Also look at whether comments are meaningful instead of relying only on the percentage.
Follower count describes account size but does not replace a review of real videos and audience fit.
Price and views per dollar help compare budget efficiency, but past performance does not guarantee the next result.
5. Check reliability
Completed orders, ratings, and recent activity help describe working history. The 'Recommended by IWBL' badge is an editorial selection by the team, not a promise of views. A new creator with no orders can still fit your track; start with a smaller test when evidence is limited.
6. Notice warning signs without judging from one number
Review a profile more carefully when a large follower count comes with consistently low views, comments look repetitive, or the audience does not match your goal. These are reasons to investigate, not proof of artificial engagement on their own.
7. Build a shortlist instead of searching for one perfect creator
For a first test, choose 3–5 creators who solve the task in different ways: for example, one with stronger average views, one with higher engagement, and one whose style is an especially strong fit. Add them to the cart, compare the maximum total, and remove anyone you cannot describe in one sentence: 'This creator fits my track because…'.
Quick check before adding a creator to the cart
Their style feels natural for the track.
Their viewers resemble the audience you need, or you deliberately want to test a new audience.
You watched several recent videos, not only the profile cover.
The price fits your budget and you evaluated the metrics in context.
You know which format you want to discuss with this creator.
